But for Anthony Battaglia and Harrison Hays, aka Smoakland, this milestone is more than just another show. It’s the culmination of years of hard work, a celebration of their artistic evolution, and a prelude to their most ambitious project yet: a nine-track album dropping in April 2025.
In an exclusive interview with the duo, Smoakland opened up about their creative process, their favorite collaborations, and what fans can expect from both the ReelWorks performance and their new music. Here’s what they had to share:
The Creative Process
Smoakland’s approach to music-making has evolved significantly over the years, and 2023-2024 marked a new peak in their collaboration. “As of lately our process has been extremely fluid,” Harry shared.
“I’ve been sketching ideas daily, and at the end of the day, I’ll send them to Anthony. If he’s into it, that song becomes a work in progress. We’ve been CRANKING out tunes lately. It’s been amazing.”

Anthony agreed, adding, “The back and forth between Harry and me has been amazing. It’s been awesome watching Harry’s progression as a producer. The things he’s bringing to the table are taking our sound to the next level. We’re so in sync now that when one of us has a good idea, we can finish that idea the same day.”
This synergy has propelled their music to new heights, and it’s evident in the tracks they’ll be performing live at ReelWorks. Long-term fans have been able to witness this evolution live at festival and venue stages across the country.
A Teaser for ReelWorks and the 2025 Album
The ReelWorks show is shaping up to be a turning point for Smoakland and its fans.
“We are coming with our best music yet, best stage production, and sound. We are really giving this show everything we’ve got.”
But the excitement doesn’t stop there. 2025 will also see the release of Smoakland’s full-length album.

“This album is our best work yet. All nine songs are very cohesive and high-energy. There are only two collabs on it—one with Big Gigantic and the other with Wreckno and HerShe. Every song has lots of build-ups, catchy vocals, and heavy samples to keep you singing along.” – Harry
What’s Next for Smoakland
Fans can expect much more than just the album in 2025. The duo revealed they are also finishing a liquid drum and bass EP and have plans to release a steady stream of music throughout the year.
“We’re constantly learning new things and expanding our sound,” Anthony shared. “2025 is going to be a great year for Smoakland listeners because we’re going to be dropping a lot of music. Whether it be originals, collabs, or remixes, we’re grinding hard and showcasing all the new sounds we’ve been working on. No more keeping music locked away; it’s time to give it to the people.”
This is the energy we fans want to see more of in 2025! To stay up to date with Smoakland’s releases and tour dates, follow them on Instagram, and don’t miss their ReelWorks debut this Saturday.
