Chris Webby joins Little Stranger for first Mission Ballroom set Aug. 29 [Preview]

This August is a great month for independent hip-hop fans in Denver. From Noname making a rare appearance at Cervantes Masterpiece on Aug. 18 to Lucki hitting Mission Ballroom on Aug. 23, if you love hip-hop, this is the month for you. Capping off the month is a powerhouse of a lineup including Jarv, Damn Skippy, Tropodelic, Chris Webby and Little Stranger, all hitting the stage at Mission Ballroom on Saturday, Aug. 29.

A new album from Little Stranger

Little Stranger is an independent hip-hop duo consisting of John Shields and Kevin Shields. Oddly enough, of no relation to each other. The group formed in Philadelphia around 2015 and now calls Charleston, SC, home. Known for hit songs like “Coffee and a Joint” and “Sunburn” featuring Tropodelic, Little Stranger blends lyrics and melody in a beautiful, blissful way. Celebrating the release of their latest album, “Broken Hearted Boys Club,” released on July 17, 2026, the duo are currently on their biggest headlining tour to date.

Opening Support

Tropidelic, Jarv, and Damn Skippy are the official tour support, all of which have singles with the Little Stranger boys and draw from similar inspirations. For Jarv and Damn Skippy, think classic boom-bap hip-hop instrumentals and witty raps. Tropodelic, on the other hand, is a six-piece band from Cleveland, OH, who blend together a mix of reggae, hip-hop, funk, and rock. Expect good vibes and a reggae bass line that slams through the epic Mission Ballroom sound system.

Special guests for Mission Ballroom

With a nearly 4,000-person capacity at Mission Ballroom, this stop remains one of the biggest venues of the tour. To accommodate those extra seats, Little Stranger invited a few special guests along for the Aug. 29 stop in Denver. For one night only, Chris Webby and G. Love were added to this already stacked hip-hop lineup. Webby has been a juggernaut in the independent hip-hop scene for years, amassing over 340,000 followers on Instagram and establishing himself as one of the prominent underground hip-hop voices over the last 10 years. He is currently riding the high of the collaborative album he recently released with U.K. emcee Ren, titled “Asylum.”

G.Love is the frontman for G.Love and the Special Sauce and has been making funky reggae-inspired sounds for over 20 years. G. Love & Special Sauce created their own genre, “The Hip-Hop Blues.” They are known for their unique, laid-back sound that encompasses Delta blues, hip hop, rock & roll, soul, and funk. A perfect cherry on top of an already stacked lineup.

This is a stacked lineup of good music and exciting hip-hop. Guaranteed to blow the top off of Mission Ballroom with a much-needed dose of lyricism and soul. Don’t sleep on these tickets and witness history as Little Stranger performs for one of their biggest headline sets to date.
