There’s something fitting about Jack Johnson coming back to Colorado. For an artist whose entire career has been built around slowing things down, appreciating where you are and not taking yourself too seriously, Colorado has been part of the story from the very beginning.

Long before the sold-out amphitheaters and 25 million-plus records, Johnson and his band packed themselves into a Chevy Astrovan and headed to Colorado to see if this whole “being a touring band” thing could actually work. They played Breckenridge, Durango, Boulder, Denver and plenty of smaller spots along the way. As Johnson told the Denver Gazette in 2022, “I think of Colorado as our origin story, really.”
That connection hasn’t faded. Johnson is back in Colorado this September for two nights at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre, September 2 and 3, bringing Lake Street Dive along for both shows. Doors open at 6 p.m., with music starting at 7:30.
The timing also makes sense. Johnson is touring behind SURFILMUSIC, a project that pulls together his longtime relationship with surfing, filmmaking and music, including archival recordings and new material. He’s spent more than two decades making songs that feel effortless on the surface while quietly becoming the soundtrack to everything from road trips to first dances to entire summers.
