As Denver gears up for an unprecedented Tipper weekend at Red Rocks, Colony Productions is set to kick off the final chapter of Tipper’s career emphatically.
Thursday, September 18th, the collective will be ushering in Crawdad Sniper, Braek, Hoopla, and Alejo to Cervantes. The night of music will set the bar extremely high for the weekend, with ‘oddballs’ all coming together from across the world to the Mile High City. With the stage set with powerhouses capable of continuing the legacy Tipper leaves behind, Colony Productions reminds us that we are in fantastic hands.
Colony Productions is led by owner Mike Wallis, aka Osmetic, as half of K.L.O. and Crunch. After a procedure on a tumor in his brain put him on hiatus, he returns to lead the charge for the Colony as well as play his first show since the procedure. Under his direction, we have seen several artists influenced by Tipper release music and play shows under Colony Productions.

On Thursday, September 19, at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom, fans will get an opportunity to welcome their Tipper Red Rocks weekend through a no-visuals format. Just lights, live art, and fresh beats. As shown by the artwork of Zack Julen, this evening will shape up to be not just a commencement, but a launch and a sneak peek of “what’s next.” It is meant to be a gathering, a chance to catch up, and hear some new tunes before the Nova and Tipper shows.
Headlining will be Alejo, who has become one of this community’s prominent torchbearers. Alejo, for the last decade, has been paving a path for himself by blending gangster hip-hop with the nasty halftime (and more recently D&B/Jungle as well) bass that we all love. He’s also worked with some of the hottest VJs in the scene right now, including Tyme, MEZMER, Laia, and 3na. Prodigy Crawdad Sniper will also be joining the crew with a style of his own: playful, sophisticated, and not afraid to take risks. The two are clear examples of the ‘torchbearers’ for the Tipper world, who will carry his legacy while also blazing trails of their own.
Australian artist Braek is joining the Colony crew. Braek released a phenomenal LP in December of 2024. And finally, our friend Hoopla concludes the bill. The blend of all five of these artists, combined with Cervantes’s old-school style and vibe, makes this lineup a celebration of the future and also a celebration of the past.
The show is more than just a warmup; it’s a reintroduction, and a chance for the Tipper community to rally around one of its pillars. It’s a kickoff that is sentimental. ‘The Colony,’ born from friendship, shared vision, and now, resilience, opens the door for what’s next in a post-Tipper world. “Happy days :)” as Mike himself likes to say, definitely feels like a true description of the upcoming weekend here.
