Denver, are you ready for DEVAULT? The American electronic musician has been a River Beats favorite since his first album Release in 2018, Stay, and has continued to follow along on his journey featuring multiple EPs, singles, remixes and more. Taking inspiration from the early new wave talent of Depeche Mode and Daft Punk, Devault is bridging the gap between a nostalgic and original sound.
He is no stranger to Denver, having played three times last year including an opening set for the sold-out DJ Snake as well as opening for Duke Dumont – both shows at Red Rocks Ampitheatre. To kick off the year, Denver is getting a proper headline show from Devault himself at Club Vinyl this Saturday, March 2.
Since his debut EP release in 2018, Devault has continued to grow & explore new sounds, and River Beats has been there to witness the evolution. Following up with similar “gem” themed EPs including, SAPPHIRE, and RUBY, Diamond Tape released in 2022, with a slew of singles in 2023.
The Diamond Tape EP begins with previously released single “HEAVEN’S GATES” with Izzy Camina, exploring dark and industrial elements reminiscent of a gritty & dark warehouse party. Devault even confirms this himself, explaining that he wanted to “immerse the listener for a full 15-minutes as if they’re in a European warehouse dancing, escaping themselves.” This sets the mood for the rest of Diamond Tape, a combination of sexy edginess filled with heavy hitters.
2023 was a collaborative year for DEVAULT as he worked alongside ZHU and BabyJake on “Revelations,” Daya on “Chains,” and OTR on “Apart Of Me.”
