While Denver is known for being its massive live music scene, it’s also become the proving grounds for genres like Dubstep, Half-time, as well as Electronic Funk & Soul. Kicking off 2025 with a dual-headlining venture, Motifv & Phyphr intend to set their names in stone at the storied Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom.

Sounds and styles often come in waves, but it would appear, Electronic Funk & Soul, are very much here to stay. Its roots in foundational genres and the seamless blend into modern production make for a combination that is hard to resist.
Artists such as Daft Punk, Afrika Bombaataa, and Jamiroquai pushed the boundaries of what is possible within the electronic space early and often allowing for names we know and love like Pretty Lights, GRiZ, and Big Gigantic to carve their paths in its modern format.
Now we’ve begun to see the next generation of torch-bearers begin their march and we can’t wait to see what Motifv & Phyphr have in their bright futures. Both hot off incredible years including a pair of breakout performances at Hulaween, the sky is the limit for 2025.
Ballroom Blitz
On January 10, the boys kick things off at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom, a historic Denver venue where artists of all walks have cut their teeth from doors openers to headlining tours. For Motifv & Phyphr, it’s no different with respective performances in both the Ballroom and The Other Side.
Leaning firmly into the soulful, beat-driven vibe you’d welcome on a sunny day, Motifv continues to make his mark following his latest duo EP releases Where the Sun Sets & Behind the Moon. It doesn’t always have to be drops and bangers, and Motifv knows how to get the crowd moving.
Like yin and yang, Phyphr is a perfect match with his upbeat approach to future-funk, re-introducing instruments into his live performances with an energy that encapsulates the audience. His years as a fan shine through in his passion for connecting with the community.
