Four Tet is coming back to Denver for the first time in seven years, and if his recent shows are any indication, this is one you definitely DON’T want to miss.

Four Tet heads to Mission Ballroom on Thursday, September 24, for a one-of-a-kind electronic set that puts the music front and center. The last time he was in Denver was back in May 2019, when he played Red Rocks alongside a Disclosure DJ set, Leon Vynehall B2B Axel Boman and DJ Seinfeld.
Four Tet’s current production is pretty stripped back compared to the typical LED-heavy productions that have become standard in electronic music. The setup centers around a single row of moving lights, creating an almost ‘old-school rave’ atmosphere where the room itself becomes part of the experience.
A key collaborator behind Four Tet and his production is Ed Warren, his longtime lighting designer. Warren has worked with Hebden for years, and the two have built a show around the idea that the audience – not the DJ booth – is the focal point. Warren has described the goal as making everyone in the room feel immersed, while deliberately avoiding video-heavy production.
That final “product” was on full display at Four Tet’s recent open-to-close set at Brooklyn Storehouse. After the show, Hebden shared photos from the night on Instagram and shouted Warren out, explaining that the two have worked together for many years and that their shows are “improvised and different every night.”
Four Tet’s Latest Release is Just as Unpredictable
That willingness to keep things unpredictable carries over into Hebden’s music, too. On July 3, he released a surprise eight-track album under his Wingdings alias. The album title and every track title are written entirely in Wingdings symbols, making the whole thing basically impossible to pronounce, or even search for. The record had initially appeared as a limited vinyl release before hitting streaming platforms in July.
