La Loma: The Legacy Lives On

More Than 45 Years of Colorado Tradition, Family Recipes, and Community

For more than 45 years, La Loma has been more than a restaurant. It has been a gathering place where birthdays are celebrated, traditions are passed down, and generations of Coloradans have shared meals around the same family recipes that first made La Loma a Denver favorite.

Built on a foundation of genuine hospitality, scratch-made cooking, and family tradition, La Loma continues to honor its heritage while embracing the future of hospitality. Every tortilla is made fresh, every batch of our award-winning green chile is prepared from the same time-honored recipe, and every guest is welcomed like family.

A Colorado Tradition Built on Family Recipes

La Loma’s story began with simple family recipes, warm hospitality, and a commitment to making every guest feel at home. What started as one neighborhood restaurant has become one of Colorado’s most recognized dining destinations while remaining locally owned and operated.

For decades, families have returned for the dishes that made La Loma famous, including its legendary green chile, handcrafted chile rellenos, fresh tortillas, and fresh-squeezed margaritas. While menus and guest expectations have evolved over the years, the recipes that define La Loma have remained remarkably unchanged.

That consistency has helped generations of guests create traditions of their own, bringing children, grandchildren, and now great-grandchildren back to the same table.

How La Loma Helped Shape Colorado’s Love for Green Chile

Few dishes are more closely associated with Colorado than green chile, and for decades La Loma has proudly been part of that story.

The restaurant’s award-winning green chile has become one of Colorado’s signature flavors, earning recognition from locals and visitors alike while introducing countless guests to one of the state’s most beloved culinary traditions.

Served alongside fresh tortillas, enchiladas, burritos, chile rellenos, and countless family meals, La Loma’s green chile has become more than a recipe. It has become part of Colorado’s food culture.

The La Loma Experience Today

While tradition remains at the heart of every meal, today’s La Loma continues to evolve with modern hospitality.

Guests will still find the scratch kitchen that has defined the restaurant for decades, but they’ll also discover an expanded selection of handcrafted cocktails, premium tequilas, fresh seasonal margaritas, and new food and beverage offerings that complement the restaurant’s heritage without replacing it.

La Loma also offers extensive private events & catering programs that are customizable for all guests. They offer dedicated event staff, custom menus, spacious private & semi-private room options, and award winning food & beverage to pick from.

Behind the scenes, Renee Brinkerhoff as the owner and operator of La Loma, has invested in experienced operations leadership, marketing, management, culinary development, and private events teams to ensure every location delivers the same level of hospitality guests have come to expect.

“Our responsibility is to protect everything people love about La Loma while continuing to improve the experience for future generations,” said the ownership team. “That means preserving the recipes, investing in our growth, embracing thoughtful innovation, and never losing sight of why our guests have chosen La Loma for more than four decades.”

From One Small Kitchen to Three Thriving Restaurants

What began as a single restaurant has grown into three thriving Colorado locations ( Downtown Denverm Denver Tech Center, and Parker) serving thousands of guests every week. For more than four decades, La Loma has grown by staying true to one simple belief: great food has the power to bring people together.

As generations of families embraced our traditions, we recognized an opportunity to thoughtfully expand from one restaurant to three, making those same recipes, memories, and experiences available to more Colorado communities. Every new location is the result of careful planning and a collaborative team effort to ensure we become part of the neighborhoods we serve, not just another restaurant within them.

Founder and Owner RenĂ©e Brinkerhoff explains, “Seeing the joy on our guests’ faces is what inspires us to grow. We know how much people love La Loma, and every new restaurant is an opportunity to share that tradition with another community. Bringing families together around our table has always been our purpose, and that’s our why.”

Becoming Part of Every Community We Serve

As La Loma has expanded into communities like Parker, Downtown Denver, and Denver Tech Center, the goal has never been simply to open another restaurant.

Instead, the team has focused on becoming an active member of each community through nonprofit partnerships, local sponsorships, chamber involvement, school and civic support, charitable fundraising, and neighborhood events.

Whether supporting local organizations in Parker or building relationships with businesses and community partners throughout Denver and its thriving Tech Center, La Loma believes great restaurants should give back to the communities that support them.

“We’ve always believed a restaurant should become part of the neighborhood it calls home. Before opening each location, we take time to understand the community, its people, and what makes it unique. Our goal isn’t to simply serve great food. It’s to build meaningful relationships and create a place where families, friends, and neighbors can feel like they truly belong. We want every La Loma to feel like it’s been a part of the community for generations.”

That philosophy reflects a simple belief that hospitality extends beyond the dining room.

The Legacy Lives Here

For more than 45 years, La Loma has welcomed first dates, graduation dinners, family reunions, business lunches, anniversaries, and countless celebrations.

Its story is one of resilience, family, and an unwavering commitment to hospitality.

While Colorado continues to grow, one thing remains unchanged. La Loma is committed to preserving the traditions that made it a Colorado icon while ensuring future generations experience the same warmth, recipes, and memories that have defined the restaurant for decades.

Generations of families have gathered inside La Loma’s brick walls, and generations more will too.
