Colorado Governor Jared Polis recently gave a statement concerning COVID-19 and the current state of affairs in Colorado. He warned residents to be extra vigilant over the 4th of July weekend including wearing masks in public and social distancing.
Although gatherings of up to 50 people are allowed under current guidelines, Polis suggests spending time with one’s own family instead of larger gatherings. While Colorado still has lower numbers in comparison to other states, positive case numbers are higher than last week.
“The absolute level is less concerning that a trend over time that would ultimately lead to overwhelming hospitals. That’s why we want to make sure that 4th of July plans aren’t a setback, people continue to wear masks and take this seriously.”
