Happy New Year! The fireworks have faded into the distance and The Sub.mission team wasted no time gearing up for 2024. After a well-deserved vacation, The Black Box is picking up right where they left off in January!
Featuring Dubstep stalwarts, IDM specialists, and Junglists alike, we’re poised to kick off the next rotation of the earth with a bang. Look forward to performances from Joe Nice, Abstrakt Sonance, Mr. Bill, and more to set the tone for what’s to come this year!
From the Beginning
Making his return to Black Box for Electronic Tuesdays on January 16 is US Dubstep pioneer Joe Nice. The co-founder of Dub War and critically acclaimed DJ has been a foundational element in the growth of the genre for over a decade and remains committed to the roots.
His depth of knowledge, potentially unmatched catalog, and ability to carry a crowd all make for an experience fans cannot miss. For more sub-moving heavy hitters, there’s plenty more in store for January.
Dubstep and bass music alike shine bright this month with stops from Milano, Mikrodot & Salty, S.Murk (Kursa & Tapeworm), Abstrakt Sonance, and Widow as a treat.
Picking up the tempo, Sofa Sound Bristol‘s very own DLR makes his way to the Black Box with Gusto on MC duties. After a decade of honing his unique approach, his third album Money Til I Got None landed with massive success and is one of our favorites of the year.
Outside the Box
Returning to Denver for a special night of IDM on January 26 is production wizard Mr. Bill. Known both for his expertise in the DAW and podcast featuring the likes of Thys (Noisia), Duncan Trussell, and more, we couldn’t think of a better host for the evening.
He’s joined by the incredibly talented and understated Upscale founder Frequent, Iterate, and Sebastian Vydra all of which are sure to test the boundaries of modern sound design as well as the range of the Black Box system.
Wrapping up the first month out of the gate is a Denver treasure in Sinistarr. Hailing from dance music mecca Detroit, Michigan, the multi-faceted DJ and producer stays true to the roots while exploring through Drum & Bass, Jungle, Footwork, & more.
