From Colorado to California, this talented house artist is making his next strides in the industry with prestigious bookings, including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, The Amp in Vail, Mission Ballroom, and many more slated for 2024. Rush performs for a SOLD OUT Apres at the Amp alongside Sofi Tukker, plus the high-energy Disco Lines, this Saturday, April 6. From a young age, Rush’s passion for music has been undeniable, starting when he was just 3 years old and continuing to grow with his fascination for instruments. Decker explains that his first sense of certainty in the industry came after his DJ Snake Red Rocks opening set, as well as his Larimer Lounge Open House series set back in 2022.
“When I got off that stage, the feeling I had was a mix of pure adrenaline, euphoria, and utter gratitude. It was something I had never felt before and from that moment, I realized that this would turn into something far bigger than I’ve ever dreamed of. Being able to open for DJ Snake at Red Rocks affirmed my belief that this could be a dream come true.” – Decker Rush
Inspirations and expectations for rush’s vail performance
Rush shared with River Beats that he draws inspiration from popular artists such as John Summit, Westend, Dom Dolla, and Odd Mob.However, his musical influences stretch back to his childhood, where he was exposed to iconic classics from the likes of Foo Fighters, John Mayer, and Jack Johnson. He attributes a significant part of his musical style to these artists, a credit he happily gives to his dad for introducing him to such great music. It’s clear that growing up surrounded by good music has played a crucial role in shaping Rush’s talent and artistic direction.
His passion for music extends to the creative process of production, where it all begins. The artist emphasized that his love for music begins with a strong focus on vocals, believing that emotion lies within the voice in tunes. This sentiment is evident in his new single, “It’s Over,” featuring CHILLIG.
