Maddy O’Neal Adds Her Signature Sound to LVDY’s ‘Dust’ [Listen]

Maddy O’Neal, has been a long time favorite of ours. LVDY (Lady) is a Colorado Singer/Songwriter Duo, originally from New Zealand, the group has a Folk vibe but blend in pop music as well. Their debut EP has racked up thousands of listens already since dropping earlier this year.

Enter Maddy O’Neil, who has known LVDY for some time now. They do yoga together so you know the bond is real. Both being part of the Denver scene for some time now, LVDY reached out to Maddy over six months ago about remixing their single “Dust.” With a full plate, she was hesitant, but loves their lyrics and singing voices so much. Maddy created what she calls one of her favorite tracks to date. She also went on to say “I love working with artists whose vibe steer me in different directions, its the only way to learn and grow.” We agree.

Maddy uses LVDY’s lyrics to her advantage, “Won’t find no water” echoes throughout the entire track. O’Neal also adds her signature synths, and a bass line just heavy enough to elevate the track to another level. While at the same time, staying true to the original pop-folk original. Not an easy task.

Maddy O’neal is what we like to call a real one. She is a total badass, on and off the stage. We are always stoked when she comes through town. Let’s be real this remix is impressive. I wouldn’t mind if she released a mix in the near future, maybe an EP? Our fingers are crossed.
