In a city nicknamed the “Mile High,” it’s a safe assumption that the views are fantastic — and that there’s no shortage of places to enjoy them.
Whether you’re looking to enjoy a casual beer after a Rockies game, cozy up to an alfresco dinner on a romantic date night, bar hop with your buddies, or catch some live music, there are several rooftop bars in Denver that fit the bill.
Best rooftop bars in Denver
No matter the occasion or what part of town you’re in, Denver has several amazing rooftop bars. We’ve highlighted just eight of them, but there are many, many others to explore.
It’s hard to imagine other rooftop bars in Denver topping Tap Fourteen by much (see what we did there?). This downtown beer garden offers over 70 Colorado beers on draft, 50 Colorado whiskeys (the largest selection in the city!), a locally-sourced menu, and an unbeatable location half a block from Coors Field.
Perched atop the swanky Le Meridien Hotel, this Denver rooftop bar is aptly-named. Sitting on the 20th floor, 54thirty sits exactly 5,430 feet above sea level — more than a “Mile High,” for anyone who’s wondering. Unique among the best rooftop bars in Denver, 54thirty is first-come, first-served only.
This gorgeous Cherry Creek bar sits on the roof of the Halcyon Hotel, offering sweeping views of the Rockies. The craft cocktails and small bites are worth a visit in and of themselves, but the entertainment and vibe will keep you coming back. In the fall and winter, experience live curling and live music or rent a private cabana for up to six people. Oh, and order the Froze. Trust us.
Run by the famed Kizaki Brothers (of Sushi Den), Izakaya Den is widely considered to have some of the best sushi in the city. It also just so happens to have one of the best rooftop bars in Denver and be one of the best date night restaurants. What makes the rooftop so special? Well, it has a rectractable glass ceiling, for one, and the hip vibe certainly helps also.
Affectionately called simply “Los” by locals, Los Chingones would be worth a trip even without the rooftop views. The restaurant effortlessly nails everything, from the colorful, vibrant ambiance to the innovative takes on Mexican cuisine and dizzying number of tequila-based cocktails. It is truly also one of the best rooftop bars in Denver, though, with seating for 90 (!!) and excellent city views.
Trade mountain views for lakeside brews at this unique Odell brewhouse with an epic rooftop bar. In addition to 16 Odell beers on tap, this location serves as a “10-barrel R&D system,” meaning they brew experimental beers you won’t find anywhere else. Come hungry, because the scratch-made pizza is an absolute must.
Tucked slightly off the beaten path away from most of the downtown hustle and bustle, The Fainting Goat is easily one of the best rooftop bars in Denver. You’ll find mostly locals at this laid-back Irish pub with a huge multi-story space. The rooftop itself is a rad indoor-outdoor area with plenty of seating and numerous TVs to catch the game. Try weekend brunch and come hungry, because the Irish comfort food here is a must.
If you’re a whiskey lover, this is definitely among the best rooftop bars in Denver — and it’s dog-friendly, too. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot boasts over 90 types of whiskey (and 30 draft beers for those non-whiskey fans) plus a small but well-curated food menu. It’s also a stone’s throw away from Coors Field, so this is a perfect stop pre- or post-Rockies games. Highlights include weekday Happy Hour and Sunday brunch.
